蟬的回歸：17年的等待，換得一個月的陽光

2013年夏季，美東出現了大群蟬隻湧出的狀景，這種蟬叫紅眼蟬，在土裡生活了十七年­，才破土而出，迎接短短一兩個月的陽光，繁衍後代，然後死去。那十七年的等待，只為了­讓生命繼續延續。多麼渺小卻又偉大的願望。

本紀錄片拍下了紅頭蟬從出生到死亡的生命週期，你能看見縮時手法呈現的季節更迭，以及­用微距鏡頭捕捉到的紅頭蟬不同型態，近距離感受這小小動物的生命脈動，令人動容。

Cicadas are among the most fascinating insects, and the 17-year periodical cicadas are the most interesting of all. Transported from the past, they bubble up from the ground in otherwise sedate suburban yards and parks. Since May 2013, billions of them emerged along the mid-Atlantic coast of the United States, from North Carolina to Connecticut. They can be found in and around Washington D.C., Philadelphia, New Jersey, and New York City. This is one of if the largest outbreaks of insects on Earth, with trillions due to appear.

Samuel Orr, a natural history filmmaker and time-lapse photographer, have been following and filming the various broods of periodical cicadas since 2007.
