2021 NJSO Lunar New Year Celebration Concert

An NJSO tradition continues with a very special Lunar New Year Celebration Concert 中國新年聯歡音樂會! This joyous program features new NJSO performances led by Music Director Xian Zhang 張弦at NJPAC, plus at-home performances and highlights from our 2019 and 2020 Lunar New Year Celebrations. During the concert premiere, Xian 張弦 and NJSO violinist Wendy Chen 陳韻 provide live text commentary right here on YouTube!
The concert features includes Eastern traditional favorites such as the Spring Festival Overture 春節序曲, “Purple Bamboo Tune” 江南絲竹曲-紫竹調, Fisherman's Song at Eventide 漁舟唱晚 and “Gong Xi Gong Xi” 恭喜發財, united with Western classical favorites such as Tchaikovsky's Andante cantabile for Cello and Orchestra and Piazzolla's Libertango.
